About The Position

The Restaurant Host/Hostess is an essential member of the Food & Beverage team dedicated to providing exceptional quality and service to our guests. By nature of the position, the Restaurant Host/Hostess is the guest’s first impression of the restaurant. This Restaurant Host/Hostess greets guests promptly, courteously, and graciously with eye contact and a smile. Utilizing Open Table, the Restaurant Host/Hostess takes reservations, reviews the daily reservation book and has the ability to seat guests without reservations. The Restaurant Host/Hostess has a complete working knowledge of the menus, menu ingredients and what is unavailable for that day. A principle role within the restaurant, the Restaurant Greeter is familiar with server stations, their daily assignments, their personal timing patterns, and their maximum workload capacity. The Restaurant Host/Hostess is also familiar with frequent guests and knows their names and preferences. This leader is able to consistently ignite the human spirit by creating unrivaled hospitality experiences fueled by fun, enthusiasm and compassion that challenge each person to unlock their own potential.

Requirements

Must have alcohol training certification (TABC/TIPS)
Must have Food Handler permit
Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 lbs.
Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, crawl, reach above and below shoulders, repetitive arm and wrist use, climb ladders and stairs, and walk on uneven surfaces.
Must be able to operate motor vehicle using safety precautions.
Must be able to recognize, register, and respond visually to color and depth perception.
Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
Must be able to work indoor, outdoor, in extreme heat and cold.
Must be able to work around moderate noise level.

Responsibilities

Greet guests when entering the restaurant with a pleasant smile and superior customer service.
Seat guests by finding a clean, available table, pulling out chairs, and placing clean menu in front of guest.
For reservations tables are set and ready to the number of people and occasion.
Answer phone and record reservations
Monitor dining rooms for seating availability, service, safety and well being of guests
Thank every guest upon departure, invite them to return, and wish them a fond farewell
Must communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and on written communication
Must stand and walk for an extended period of time or for an entire shift
Work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
