About The Position

Dedicated to creating experiences our guests and team members are amazed by, Stanley’s Bar and Grill at the Stanley Park Pavilion is looking for an energetic and engaged host or hostess. Within walking distance of Vancouver’s vibrant West End neighborhood, as well as many of the city’s top tourist destinations, there is never a dull day at this beautiful heritage location. If you are passionate about quality food and beverage service, organization, and enjoy working on a team in a customer facing position, we would love to hear from you.
The Stanley’s Bar and Grill Host(ess) is part of the team responsible for excellent guest service. Main duties include welcoming, seating, assisting the serving team and bussing tables.

Requirements

• Strong communication skills
• Must have excellent people skills with a positive & upbeat attitude
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task
• Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 20lbs, climb a step ladder or climb a step stool
• Able to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of the business

Nice To Haves

• Serving it Right certificate is considered an asset
• Ability to work in varied weather conditions, including heat, rain, and winter environments.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and contribute to a positive experience; welcome & smile
• Accurately take Guest reservations and seat guests following section rotation
• Assist serving team, when necessary, by taking drink orders and running food
• Maintain glassware and cutlery
• Clean floors, walls, counters, windows and equipment in restaurant and service areas
• Maintain a positive, team oriented work environment
• Follow all procedures outlined in the Team Member Handbook
• Be knowledgeable and promote the Capilano Group of Companies
• Take reasonable care to protect your own, co-workers and Guest’s health and safety
• Be alert to hazards and immediately report any concerns of yours or our guests to your supervisor
• Ensure your ability to work without risk to your health and safety or any other person’s safety is not impaired by alcohol, drugs or other causes
