About The Position

The Restaurant Host/Hostess is responsible for welcoming restaurant patrons by greeting and seating guests. This role involves maintaining a professional appearance, utilizing the Dine Time application for table management, and taking to-go orders. The position also requires adherence to proper cash handling procedures, knowledge of the menu, and assisting food servers when needed. Additionally, the Host/Hostess will take dining reservations, promote marketing programs, and perform other duties as assigned by the Food & Beverage Manager.

Requirements

  • 1 year host or restaurant front of house experience.
  • High School Diploma and/or equivalent.
  • Must be able to speak, read and understand English.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience using Squirrel or other POS services, and has working knowledge of application based TMS such as Dine Time.
  • Knowledge of Safety & Sanitation guidelines as set forth in individual job manuals.
  • Must have a Food Handler Card/ Serve Safe Certificate.
  • Ability to stand and walk the entire shift excluding breaks and meal periods.
  • Must demonstrate positive/enthusiastic approach to all assignments.
  • Attendance and punctuality are an essential function of the position.
  • Must be clean, well-groomed, and have a professional appearance per company standards.
  • Must possess an ability to work with minimal supervision and make educated ethical decisions as necessary.
  • Must be able to resolve conflicts and have effective communication skills with all levels of employees.
  • Must be able to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Must demonstrate an ability to work independently, prepare detailed professional correspondence, memoranda, policies, procedures as well as regulations related to the employee’s duties.
  • A general knowledge of the Windows based computer operating systems is also required.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome restaurant patrons by greeting and seating guests.
  • Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with department and company policy.
  • Properly utilize Dine Time application to keep accurate accounts of tables in service.
  • Take to go orders over the phone and in person.
  • Follow proper cash handling procedures and close all checks properly.
  • Politely greet all customers and escort them to the table.
  • Follow Commerce Casino/Crowne Plaza standards of greeting, seating and service.
  • Provide knowledge of menu; able to discuss food preparation with customers.
  • Be responsible for the presentation and appearance of all regular and daily menus.
  • Assist Food Servers by offering beverages upon seating, clearing and setting tables when needed.
  • Take dining reservations and give other information on the phone.
  • Assist in the promotion of Mr. Banks marketing programs.
  • Perform all other work-related duties as assigned by the Food & Beverage Manager.
