About The Position

Harrington Restaurant Supply is hiring a Commercial Kitchen Equipment Service Technician to support customers throughout Montana. We are looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined professional with experience in restaurant equipment repair, refrigeration service, appliance troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance. This field-based position is ideal for a technician who enjoys solving problems, working independently, and delivering exceptional customer service. As a member of our service team, you will help restaurants, institutions, and foodservice operations minimize downtime by maintaining and repairing essential commercial kitchen equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of experience repairing commercial restaurant equipment, refrigeration systems, or related mechanical equipment.
  • Working knowledge of electrical controls, gas appliances, and refrigeration fundamentals.
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues independently.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Strong troubleshooting, time-management, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and safely perform physical job duties.

Nice To Haves

  • EPA 608 Certification
  • CFESA Certification
  • HVAC/R or refrigeration experience
  • Factory or manufacturer training on commercial foodservice equipment
  • Experience servicing both hot-side and cold-side equipment

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, service, and repair a variety of commercial foodservice and refrigeration equipment, including: Commercial ovens, ranges, grills, and broilers; Fryers, steamers, and pressure cookers; Commercial dishwashing systems; Refrigeration equipment, walk-in coolers, and walk-in freezers; Gas and electric cooking equipment; Hot-side and cold-side restaurant equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled service inspections.
  • Install and commission new equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, gas, mechanical, and refrigeration systems.
  • Read wiring diagrams, service manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Test equipment to verify safe and efficient operation.
  • Identify required replacement parts and coordinate orders.
  • Maintain accurate service reports, work orders, and maintenance records.
  • Communicate repair recommendations, timelines, and equipment status with customers.
  • Follow safety procedures and company service standards.
