About The Position

This role is responsible for serving all members and guests in assigned sections of the dining room, providing fast, efficient, and courteous service of meals and beverages. The server must ensure correct billing procedures and maintain a high level of service that meets ROCC standards, while strictly adhering to all ROCC policies and regulations. Essential functions include maintaining a professional appearance, setting tables, providing immediate attention to guests, seating guests, advising on menu items and drink pairings, taking orders, serving food and drinks, clearing tables, and being knowledgeable about all food and beverage products. The role requires flexibility to adapt to different service styles, including detailed table servicing, preparing drinks, assisting with banquets, maintaining service standards, resetting tables, completing side duties, checking with the kitchen and bar for product availability and suggestive selling, and keeping the dining area neat and clean. The server must begin shifts by checking sections, serve meals properly, check back for satisfaction, suggest desserts and after-dinner drinks, perform closing duties, attend meetings, and accurately use the Jonas POS system. There is frequent interaction with members, guests, and children.

  • Must learn and be able to properly execute the POS system (Jonas).
  • Must be a minimum age of 18 years and TABC certified to serve alcohol.

Responsibilities

  • Serve all members and guests in assigned section/s of the dining room.
  • Provide fast and efficient service of meals and beverages in a courteous manner.
  • Ensure correct billing procedures.
  • Provide excellent service, ensuring level of service meets ROCC standards.
  • Ensure all ROCC policies and regulations are strictly adhered to.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance always in accordance with the established dress codes, good posture, and a smile.
  • Set tables according to Club standards.
  • Provide immediate attention to all members/guests upon seating.
  • Seat members/guests and hand menus to them.
  • Advise guests on the menu and drinks and appropriate combinations of food and drinks.
  • Take customers' orders and place orders with kitchen or bar.
  • Inform cooks about any special cooking instructions.
  • Serve food and drinks.
  • Clear tables and return dishes and cutlery to kitchens.
  • Be knowledgeable about all food and beverage products that are offered and how they are prepared. A menu presentation table side as well as wine pairing is required.
  • Be flexible to adapt and learn all style of services that are offered. Servicing the table will include: water, lemons, crackers, offering cocktails, wine and beverages, taking the order completely and concisely, mise en place for every course, delivering the food, bread presentation, removal of plates, pouring of wine during the meal, folding napkins when guests leave the table, presenting finger towels, and 100% attentiveness.
  • Verify accuracy of members number and prices before presenting the check for signature.
  • Effectively handle complaints and communicate them to manager or supervisor.
  • Work with a “sense of urgency” on behalf of the membership without disrupting the atmosphere of the dining room.
  • Prepare drinks when necessary.
  • Assist with banquet functions.
  • Keep service standards stocked with appropriate levels of linen and silverware.
  • Reset tables as needed.
  • Complete side duty tasks as assigned.
  • Check with the kitchen and bar to see what products maybe short and what products to suggestive sell.
  • Assist in keeping dining room and work area neat and clean.
  • Begin shift by checking over their sections and making sure all tables are ready for the placement of guests.
  • Serve meal, place dishes properly in front of each person.
  • Check back to ensure member/guest satisfaction; replenishes water, butter, etc. as necessary.
  • Suggest and serve dessert, coffee, and after dinner drinks.
  • Perform clean-up and closing duties as assigned by manager.
  • Attend meetings as requested by supervisor or manager.
  • Proper execution of POS system (Jonas) to ensure accurate communication between kitchen and service staff.
  • Perform all work-related duties as assigned by supervisor or General Manager.
