About The Position
Pelican Grand Beach Resort, part of Noble House Hotels & Resorts, seeks a Cook responsible for preparing and cooking food according to established recipes and menu specifications. The role includes ingredient preparation, proper food handling and sanitation, maintaining a clean workstation, and collaborating with kitchen staff to produce high-quality meals efficiently while following health and safety guidelines. Requirements
- Prior culinary experience in a restaurant.
- Flexibility to work different days and hours, including holidays.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to stand for long durations.
- Ability to handle knives and other kitchen equipment.
- Ability to comprehend and follow instructions.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read recipes and follow their instructions.
- Must pass a background check.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies.
- Prepare food for service, including chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and preparing sauces.
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the kitchen staff.
- Follow instructions from the Executive Chef or Sous Chef.
- Clean the station and manage leftover food.
- Stock inventory appropriately.
- Ensure food is served simultaneously, at high quality, and in a timely manner.
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
