About The Position

Crescent Hotels & Resorts is looking for a talented Restaurant Host for the grand opening of JW Marriott Reston Station Residences. This role is part of the opening team for the first JW Marriott in Virginia, a new luxury hotel featuring 247 rooms and extensive meeting space. The hotel is conveniently located along the Silver Line Metro, offering easy access to airports and the capital region. The position will primarily support The Simon (a refined dining destination), Schar Bar (a vibrant lounge), and JW Market Café (a convenient grab-and-go option). Requirements

• Ability to communicate in English.
• Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
• Ability to meet standards of appearance.
• Can communicate well with guests.
• Ability to transport up to 30 lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift.
• Willingness to “pitch-in” and help co workers with their job duties and be a team player.
• Remain professional at all times.
• Treat all guests and associates with courtesy and respect, under all circumstances.
• Adhere to hotel security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key controls, lifting heavy objects, using chemicals, and effectively reporting safety hazards and safety concerns.
• Adaptable to change in work area and in hotel procedures with a willingness to learn new skills and/or improve existing ones.
• Ability to solve routine problems that occur on the job and ask for help whenever not sure how to do something.

Responsibilities

• Meet and greet guests as they arrive, offer choice of seating, then escort them to their table and present menu.
• Read, maintain and make daily entries in the log book to coordinate communication between shifts and management.
• Maintain proper set-up of dining room.
• Receive records and make any necessary arrangements for reservations and special functions in the restaurant.
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
• Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
