About The Position
Crescent Hotels & Resorts is looking for a talented Restaurant Host for the JW Marriott Reston Station Hotel. This luxury hotel overlooks Reston Row and features 247 rooms, extensive meeting space, and convenient access to transportation. The hotel includes several dining options: The Simon (modern American/Mid-Atlantic cuisine), Schar Bar (lounge with cocktails and shareable plates), and JW Market Café (coffee, pastries, grab-and-go). Requirements
- Ability to communicate in English.
- Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
- Ability to meet standards of appearance.
- Can communicate well with guests.
- Ability to transport up to 30 lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift.
- Willing to “pitch-in” and help co workers with their job duties and be a team player.
- Remain professional at all times.
- Treat all guests and associates with courtesy and respect, under all circumstances.
- Meet and strive to exceed hotel standards for work procedures, dress, grooming, punctuality and attendance.

- Ability to solve routine problems that occur on the job.
- Ask for help whenever not sure how to do something.
- Adhere to hotel security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key controls, lifting heavy objects, using chemicals, and effectively reporting safety hazards and safety concerns.
Responsibilities
- Meet and greet guests as they arrive, offer choice of seating, then escort them to their table and present menu.
- Read, maintain and make daily entries in the log book to coordinate communication between shifts and management.
- Maintain proper set-up of dining room.
- Receive records and make any necessary arrangements for reservations and special functions in the restaurant.
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
- Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
