About The Position

Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis seeks an Assistant General Manager for the Mara Restaurant and Bar Mara to join their talented team. This role is responsible for planning, organizing, controlling, and directing the work of employees in the Mara Restaurant and Bar Mara Outlets while ensuring guest satisfaction. The position involves selecting, training, evaluating, leading, motivating, coaching, and disciplining employees to ensure cultural and core standards are met. It also includes assisting in implementing innovations, being visible in the operation, providing recognition, handling guest relations, describing and ensuring the quality of food and beverages, controlling labor and operating expenses, attending operational meetings, and observing the physical condition of facilities and equipment.

Requirements

  • One to two years previous experience in assistant manager or department head position in Food & Beverage
  • Requires a working knowledge of division operations as well as Four Seasons cultural and core standards, policies, and standard operating procedures
  • Knowledge of food & beverage service, cost control, labor control, maintenance, merchandising, and accounting
  • Requires ability to operate computer equipment and other food & beverage computer systems
  • Requires reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
  • Authorization to work in the United States is required, unless the candidate is currently in a managerial role with another Four Seasons location.
  • Current Four Seasons managers may qualify for an L-1 visa sponsorship

Nice To Haves

  • A college degree specializing in hotel/restaurant management or equivalent experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, and discipline all employees in our Mara Restaurant and Bar Mara Outlets to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met
  • Assist in implementing and planning innovations and additions to the Restaurant and Bar year round
  • Be visible in the operation, provide recognition, promote good public relations, and handle complaints, concerns or special requests for guests, clients, and group contacts
  • Describe and ensure quality of all food items, ingredients, and preparation methods, as well as provide knowledge of wine and spirits in an elegantly appointed environment dedicated to an attentive and distinctive experience for Mara and Bar Mara
  • Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, purchasing decisions, and inventory and control
  • Attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments
  • Observe physical condition of facilities and equipment in the outlet and make recommendations for corrections and improvements as needed
  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and Ambassadors
