About The Position

The RESS Quality Manager will be responsible for developing operational quality plans to support the organization’s business strategies. The operational quality plans will have a direct impact on business unit results. The selected candidate will lead a team, provide employee development, monitor training, drive the performance management process, and manage organizational structure. Hiring processes and Communication Identify & lead staffing initiatives for the RESS Quality team. Some of the hiring duties will include facilitating group meetings, communicating GM policies & procedures, and delivering safety messages. The RESS Quality Manager needs to be proficient in communicating vision & strategy, which will include preparing and delivering presentations. Training & Developing Ensure employees are following all corporate required GM training and any specific training related to functional responsibility. The selected candidate will need to understands & support employee career development goals. The RESS Quality Manager is required to develop and execute initiatives to improve their team’s capability and capacity. The selected candidate will also be an active participant in the RESS HRM committee. Delegation Assigns and balances workload for direct reports. The RESS Quality Manager will prioritize individual and group tasks. The selected candidate is expected to make decisions about resource allocation, including employee assignments and overtime compensation. The Spring Hill RESS Quality Manager communicates to all levels of the organization, to the segment as well as other functions and suppliers. Key qualifications for the Spring Hill RESS Quality Manager would include: Ability to understand complex quality issues, and lead teams in a cross functional environment to successfully resolve issues. Assess supplier quality and impact on RESS assembly production. Collaborate across department leaders and other plant leaders to develop creative solutions. Inspires others within the organization to accept new concepts, practices, and approaches. Ability to summarize critical issues with resolutions and communicate to leadership. Handle complex quality issues and concerns. Reduce the risk of plant disruptions due to quality issues. Analyze metrics supporting quality issues. Work flexible, extended, and non-core hours to ensure issues are worked to resolution. Ability to solve problems and implement new and innovative strategies. Deep understanding of Quality functions Provides leadership of one of the key areas within GM Quality Systems to ensure business objectives are met. Lead GMS execution and improvement. Lead Establishing, Implementing and Maintaining Quality Management Systems (Global Quality Manual, GMS, BIQ). Lead productivity improvements and technology deployment. Partner with HQ resources and other external stakeholders for success Influence other External and Internal functions without direct authority.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in quality engineering, Quality Management or a related area preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ Quality Systems experience
  • High level of interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; ability to interact with all levels of organization.
  • High level of analytical ability
  • Experience in RESS Assembly Systems (preferred)
  • Ability to understand complex quality issues, and lead teams in a cross functional environment to successfully resolve issues.
  • Assess supplier quality and impact on RESS assembly production.
