About The Position

Reporting to the Global Director of Product Lines, the Product Line Leader is responsible for the execution and governance of the technical product roadmap and lifecycle activities within their assigned product line. The Product Line Leader serves as the critical link between Technology & Product Development and market business units, ensuring products meet customer needs while achieving cost, performance and margin objectives defined by Product Portfolio Management. The role drives cross-functional coordination, manages roadmap execution, facilitates trade-off decisions, and maintains full visibility over product changes and their impact across the global portfolio.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience in HVAC, thermal systems, or engineered equipment industries
  • Proven experience in product management, systems engineering, product development, or industrialization roles
  • Demonstrated ability to work across engineering, commercial, and manufacturing functions
  • Experience in a global, matrix organization with multiple stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, thermodynamics, and system architectures
  • Strong understanding of product development processes and lifecycle management
  • Solid business acumen with ability to balance product performance, cost targets, and market requirements
  • Ability to translate market needs into structured technical requirements
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and influencing skills (without direct authority)
  • Excellent problem-solving and trade-off decision-making capability
  • High level of organization and discipline in execution tracking and governance
  • Strong communication skills across both technical and business audiences
  • Systems thinking with the ability to manage complexity
  • Ability to speak French with our team in Quebec
  • Good command of English is necessary to interact with part of our clientele and international team.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with chiller technologies (air-cooled, water-cooled, heat pumps) and their applications is strongly preferred
  • MBA or equivalent business education is a strong asset

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and execute the technical product roadmap and release schedule for the assigned product line, in alignment with strategic priorities and inputs from Product Portfolio Management
  • Ensure clear translation of market requirements into actionable development plans
  • Track and report progress on key technical milestones, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation plans
  • Maintain portfolio visibility through structured reporting, dashboards, and governance reviews
  • Support cost optimization initiatives (cost-out) by working cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Commercial teams
  • Contribute to product competitiveness through benchmarking, performance analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Partner closely with Product Portfolio Management to ensure alignment on customer requirements, value proposition, and margin targets
  • Analyze and recommend business trade-offs balancing technical feasibility, cost, and market needs
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Commercial, and Manufacturing teams to drive cost reduction, performance improvement, and product upgrades.
  • Leverage internal technical expertise (COEs) to develop solutions and secure specialized resources
  • Lead weekly product line standups focused on execution status, schedule adherence, and cost tracking
  • Coordinate R&D deliverables for minor design changes within the product line as required
  • Maintain visibility of product changes from local MBUs and ensure proper documentation.
  • Ensure changes are properly documented, reviewed, and aligned with global product strategy
  • Assess and communicate the impact of product changes on functionality, performance, and compliance.
  • Act as a gatekeeper to ensure consistency and integrity of the global product line
  • Identify, document, and escalate risks impacting product roadmap execution and deliverables
  • Lead cross-functional resolution of technical and operational challenges
  • Develop contingency plans to mitigate schedule, cost, or performance risks
  • Maintain clear records of key decisions, trade-offs, and their rationale
