About The Position

The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for a Program Domain Leader (PDL) to join our Propulsion and Hydromechanical System teams based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada), where you will work jointly with the Engineering teams and other Functions (mainly Programme) in Mirabel. You will be part of the Engineering Center of Competence (CoC) “Energy” responsible for the Powerplant and Hydromechanical Systems, and the overall Flight Physics, and report to the Head of the CoC. The team organization is established to promote cross-collaboration autonomously, supporting each other and learning collectively. This role sits at the heart of Engineering execution, acting as the integrator and orchestrator of the Energy CoC’s most critical projects and commitments. More precisely, in close coordination with the Domain’s and Head of the CoC Energy, you will enable alignment across Programme, Chief Engineering, Portfolios, CoC(s) and Flight Test Center — managing the interdependencies between the projects, facilitating in the arbitration of priorities, managing risks and opportunities, and ensuring delivery of key milestones from development to in-service performance. As the single point of convergence for a unified planning, streamlined governance and a consolidated performance, you will shape a clear, data-driven view of the CoC’s commitments, you will ensure a cross-functional coordination, and you will enable decisive problem solving to secure on-time, high-quality delivery. Requirements

  • You have a Bachelor or Master University degree in Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience
  • You have at least 10 to 15 years of experience in the Aerospace industry, and at least 3 to 5 years of experience in System Engineering activities, understanding the interdependencies at Aircraft levels
  • You are versed on aircraft program development activities as well as sustaining engineering activities
  • You have experience in Project Management : Plans, schedules, routebooks, challenging stakeholders, managing interdependencies, identifying risks and mitigation plans, and adapting to changing situations and emerging obstacles
  • You apprehend the various business dimensions and every other Function interests
  • You are able to leverage your knowledge and experience to influence decisions for the best possible outcome
  • You take responsibility for expected results and maintain a high level of personal commitment in order to successfully deliver within deadlines
  • You have good oral and writing skills in English and French; able to simplify complex issues and summarize risks, key actions and next steps

Responsibilities

  • Master the project interdependencies and facilitate arbitration between project priorities with Programme and subject Portfolios
  • Identify complex Projects requiring Engineering Route Book - when strong interdependencies and/or risks identified - and establish an integrated organization/plan with the teams accordingly
  • Consolidate the Risk & Opportunities, and lead the CoC R&O reviews
  • Survey and ensure adherence of the key projects/commitments for the CoC (mainly Continued Airworthiness, Main In-Service Problems, Competitiveness initiatives, Development and Sustainability milestones), and build a consolidated view at CoC level
  • Coordinate the CoC Monthly Business Reviews with the Heads of Domain and Engineering Business Partner
  • Manage the CoC Dashboard and associated Key Performance Indicators, ensuring adherence and identifying/facilitating Practical Problem Solving to tackle non-quality and improve performance
  • Consolidate the operating budget and convergence with Program, Portfolios and Finance in coordination with the Heads of Domain and the Engineering Business Partner; formalizing/enforcing the CoC commitments vs its Target Letter
  • As the privileged focal in the various governances with the Programme teams, ensure a proper cascade of Programme requirements/arbitrations and check acceptability/commitment by the relevant Head of Domain or Development Owners (DO)
