Respite Support Professional (PRN) - Work When It Works for You
About The Position
Covenant Case Management Services is building a bench of skilled Respite Support Professionals across our service area. This is PRN — as-needed, no set schedule, no minimum hours. You'll see available shifts and take the ones that fit your life. Nights free but weekdays booked? Perfect. Available two Saturdays a month? We'll take it. You control your availability. Take what fits, pass on what doesn't. No penalty for saying no. Consistency when you want it. Many of our PRN staff build ongoing relationships with the same family and become their go-to person. PRN is how a lot of our full-time and part-time team members started. When permanent openings come up, we look at our respite bench first. You're never sent in cold. You'll know the individual's plan, preferences, and routines before your first shift. Paid training and skill-building that counts toward your professional experience.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass a background check
- Experience supporting individuals with IDD — professional or personal caregiving both count
- Patience, dependability, and genuine respect for the people you support
Nice To Haves
- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus — we'll help you get it if you don't have it
Responsibilities
- Provide Respite to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities — giving their families a scheduled break while you keep things safe, engaging, and steady.
- Assisting with daily routines and personal care
- Supporting community outings and activities
- Encouraging independence and communication
- Documenting each shift accurately
