Respite Support Professional
About The Position
As a Respite Assistant, you will provide personal care and supervision for children with special health care needs in our clients home and out in the community. This role offers flexible hours, with most shifts occurring after 4pm Monday – Friday or on the weekends. It's a great opportunity to have fun with kids while their regular caregivers get a break, be creative while engaging children in activities, and provide 1:1 care in the child’s home or in the community. You will receive ongoing training and supervision, and this role serves as a great resume builder for those interested in social work, education, therapy, psychology, and nursing.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old to apply.
- Those 18 and over must be willing to provide transportation as a ChildServe authorized driver, if required.
- Must pass a motor vehicle record check and car safety check.
- Must be able to provide a valid driver’s license and insurance (if 18+ and providing transportation).
- Ability to lift up-to 35 lbs.
- Ability to be mobile within the assigned work area.
- Ability to frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
- Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
