About The Position

At LSI, your journey is our passion! Our Services for People with Disabilities team is searching for a dedicated, energetic full-time Respite Program Supervisor to oversee services in the Northeastern Iowa service area. This position could be based out of the Waterloo or Dubuque office for the right candidate. Supervisor will provide oversight to respite providers serving Black Hawk, Buchanan, Delaware, Dubuque, Linn and surrounding counties. The Iowans we serve are seeking a life of greater confidence and independence, and it's our privilege to empower them toward success every day. This position offers a flexible schedule & does have some work from home flexibility! We are looking for someone with good communication, interpersonal, computer and organizational skills and someone who is self motivated. This position is primarily 1st shift, but may occasionally require a meeting in the evening. Some traveling required. Very supportive and fun team to work with.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and five years of experience in human services, education or human services related field with 2 years being in a leadership position OR Associates Degree and three years of related experience; with at least one year in a leadership role OR Bachelor's Degree in a human services related field and one year of related experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Auto insurance.
  • Good driving record.
  • Ability to pass an extensive background check including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, Sex Offender registry and a criminal history check.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in a human services related field and one year of related experience.
  • Years of related experience in a supervisory or leadership role is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees Respite Care services.
  • Delivers services and supervision of Respite staff.
  • Coordinates with providers, case managers and families/clients.
  • Reviews and processes referrals.
  • Matches clients with providers.
  • Monitors client units.
  • Participates in client annual meetings/assessments.
  • Networks and markets the program.
  • Does home surveys with providers.
  • Supervises providers.
  • Partakes in the hiring process for new providers.
