About The Position

MUSC/Florence Medical Center is seeking PRN Respiratory Students to join their team. Under the direction of a licensed Respiratory Therapy professional, the Respiratory Therapy student is responsible for the administration of pharmacological, diagnostic, and therapeutic agents related to respiratory care procedures necessary to implement treatment, disease prevention, or diagnostic regimes prescribed by a physician. This includes proper assessment, observation and monitoring of signs and symptoms, general behavior, and general physical response to respiratory care treatments and diagnostic testing. The student will implement appropriate respiratory care procedures and protocols based on physician orders, make changes in treatment pursuant to physician orders, and possess the ability to assess and initiate emergency procedures. They will collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery to achieve desired patient outcomes. All other required duties will also be performed.

Requirements

  • Must be a respiratory student, active and in good standing.
  • Must be employed and work under the direct supervision of a respiratory care practitioner.
  • Must practice to the level of proven clinical competence, as certified by a program approved by the AARC.
  • Must be checked off in all clinical modalities as outlined in a Respiratory Care Accredited Program.
  • Current BLS certification as required by program affiliation.
