Respiratory Therapy Student Internship
About The Position
The intent of this Internship is to help stimulate career interest and foster professional development as a Respiratory Therapist within the Hartford Healthcare system. The focus of this program is to immerse the Student Respiratory Therapist into the role of Respiratory Care Practitioner to provide foundational didactic and practical learning experiences. The intern will provide direct patient care within a defined scope of practice under the direct and continuous supervision of an RCP preceptor. All work is co-signed by a Licensed Respiratory Practitioner. This will be an immersive learning experience, primarily shadowing and working in an acute hospital setting.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an accredited AMA approved Respiratory program with an expected graduation date within 6-12 months of internship
- BLS /ACLS Certified
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care within a defined scope of practice under the direct and continuous supervision of an RCP preceptor.
- Shadowing and working in an acute hospital setting.
