About The Position

Veranda Rehab & Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join their skilled nursing facility team. This is a full-time position with shifts available from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The role involves interpreting and implementing physician orders, monitoring residents' respiratory status, collaborating with other services, and performing various respiratory therapies. The facility is a modern, state-of-the-art care center with 100 beds, serving the Harlingen, San Benito, Palm Valley, and surrounding areas.

Requirements

Must possess a current Respiratory Therapist license issued by the state.

Responsibilities

Interpret, organize and implement physician, nurse practitioner, or licensed medical professional orders directing resident care.
Assist and continually monitor residents for proper position of airways, oxygenation, and respiratory stability.
Successfully collaborate and initiate coordination of respiratory services with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the resident’s total regimen of care.
Participate and cooperate with all aspects of facility needs and initiatives.
Perform necessary duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, and any other necessary documents as required or requested.
Initiate and be clinically responsible for the administration of respiratory therapies as prescribes to include but no limited to: Ventilator management, assessment, cleaning, weaning and maintenance; Tracheostomy maintenance, cleaning, replacement, and assurance of airway; Tracheal, NT, OT suction; Accurately obtain, document and report all pertinent vital signs; Review and revise patient respiratory care plans as necessary.
