About The Position

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a transformational leader and clinical expert for the role of Respiratory Therapy Manager. This position is at the forefront of Respiratory Therapy, known for breakthrough work with oscillating and jet ventilators and utilizing advanced techniques to improve care quality and shorten length of stays. The manager will administer various treatments, therapies, and procedures, oversee day-to-day operations for a team of 70, focus on staff development, and handle reporting, planning, and scheduling for the department. This is a highly visible position requiring interaction with physicians, nurses, and hospital leadership, utilizing ICU/Critical Care/Open Heart expertise and strong managerial leadership skills. The position is located at the NYP/CUIMC Campus, Milstein Building, in Washington Heights.

Requirements

Associates Degree in Applied Science and Respiratory Therapy (American Medical Association approved).
New York State Respiratory Therapist License.
Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Therapy.
Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).
Five years of critical care experience, two years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.
Computer Proficiency.
