About The Position

Under the supervision of the Technical Director, ensures that all respiratory equipment is processed and in operational order; maintains an inventory of supplies, parts, and medications related to respiratory care services; and distributes portable oxygen cylinders to specified patient care areas. This position includes, but is not limited to the following essential functions. Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson. Disassembles, washes, disinfects, sterilizes, and reassembles respiratory equipment as per department infection control policy and procedure Maintains proper inventory levels of consumable supplies, parts, medical gases, and medications. Collaborates with Respiratory Care Supervisor in initiating storeroom, pharmacy, and outside vendor Maintains an adequate level and appropriate function of equipment (ventilators, compressors, croup tents, flowmeters, gas regulators, etc.) to meet patient demand Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the Hospital.

Requirements

  • Student currently enrolled in an accredited respiratory program
  • High school graduate or equivalent required
  • Good self-direction and motivational qualities are necessary

Nice To Haves

  • An associate's degree or equivalent is desirable
  • One year experience in materials handling, equipment servicing, and/or direct patient contact highly desirable
