About The Position

Minden Medical Center is seeking a Respiratory Therapy Director to lead cardiopulmonary services and ensure safe, high-quality care across the hospital, with a strong focus on airway management. This role involves setting departmental direction, aligning policies and resources, and driving performance to contribute toward the attainment of hospital goals and objectives. The Director will direct operational plans, resource allocation, and policies of the department, as well as the work and responsibilities of department employees. Responsibilities include meeting financial and budget requirements and working with the lab manager and Lab Medical Director to maintain compliance for the ABG lab. The position requires working Monday-Friday and varied shifts to maintain departmental stability as the schedule warrants.

Requirements

Current Respiratory (LRT) licensure with the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners
AHA CPR required
5 years acute-care respiratory therapy experience

Nice To Haves

ACLS, PALS, and NRP strongly recommended
2 years clinical management preferred

Responsibilities

Direct operational plans, staffing, and workflow for the Cardiopulmonary department
Guide clinical standards spanning mechanical ventilation, ventilator management, oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, airway clearance techniques, and noninvasive ventilation (CPAP/BiPAP)
Oversee arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis compliance in partnership with the Lab Manager and Lab Medical Director
Manage departmental budgeting and financial targets
