About The Position

This position is for a Respiratory Therapy Assistant at Community Hospital. The role involves monitoring patient vital signs, preparing and maintaining respiratory equipment, transporting patients, assisting with diagnostic tests, educating patients on equipment use, documenting and billing, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. The job is PRN and requires relocation to Grand Junction, CO 81505 before starting work. It is an in-person/onsite position.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent.
Basic understanding of EKG

Responsibilities

Monitor vital signs: Track and record patient vital signs, such as heart rate, respiratory rate, and oxygen levels.
Prepare and maintain equipment: Clean, disinfect, and prepare respiratory equipment (ex. Home sleep study equipment) for use in patient care.
Transport patients: Move patients to and from different areas of the hospital, ensuring they are comfortable and safe.
Assist with diagnostic tests: Help in the setup and administration of diagnostic tests (e.g., HST, event monitors, EKGs, Noc Ox’s), and record results for the provider's review.
Educate patients: Provide basic instructions to patients and families on how to use HST and Noc Ox's.
Documentation and Billing: Prepares reports for physicians; processes and distributes reports to proper physicians.
Maintain a clean and safe environment: Ensure that all stocking, cleaning equipment, and respiratory equipment is maintained in good working order, and follow infection control and safety protocols.
