About The Position

Community Hospital is seeking a PRN Respiratory Therapy Assistant to join our team. This role involves monitoring vital signs, preparing and maintaining respiratory equipment, transporting patients, assisting with diagnostic tests, educating patients, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. The position is located in Grand Junction, CO 81505 and requires relocation before starting work. This is an in-person/onsite role.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent.
Basic understanding of EKG

Responsibilities

Monitor vital signs: Track and record patient vital signs, such as heart rate, respiratory rate, and oxygen levels.
Prepare and maintain equipment: Clean, disinfect, and prepare respiratory equipment (ex. Home sleep study equipment) for use in patient care.
Transport patients: Move patients to and from different areas of the hospital, ensuring they are comfortable and safe.
Assist with diagnostic tests: Help in the setup and administration of diagnostic tests (e.g., HST, event monitors, EKGs, Noc Ox’s), and record results for the provider's review.
Educate patients: Provide basic instructions to patients and families on how to use HST and Noc Ox's.
Documentation and Billing: Prepares reports for physicians; processes and distributes reports to proper physicians.
Maintain a clean and safe environment: Ensure that all stocking, cleaning equipment, and respiratory equipment is maintained in good working order, and follow infection control and safety protocols.
