About The Position

Maria Parham Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) to provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions across all age groups. This role involves performing diagnostic testing, administering and evaluating ordered therapies, and collaborating with physicians to develop and implement individualized plans of care. The Respiratory Therapist will respond to emergent situations, including codes, educate patients and families, maintain respiratory equipment and supplies, and ensure accurate documentation in the electronic medical record while adhering to evidence-based practices and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced and often stressful healthcare environment. Proficiency in learning and navigating multiple clinical software systems, along with effective communication skills in English, is required. Candidates must also be committed to successfully completing all required skills competency assessments within 90 days of hire.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy required.
  • Current NC Respiratory Care Practitioner State Licensure with NC Respiratory Care Board.
  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials issued by the NBRC.
  • Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification is required.
  • ACLS and PALS required within six (6) months of hire.
  • Effective communication skills in English, including reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension.
  • Proficiency in learning and navigating multiple clinical software systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor Degree preferred.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) preferred.
