Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy required
  • Current NC Respiratory Care Practitioner State Licensure with NC Respiratory Care Board
  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials issued by the NBRC.
  • Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification is required
  • Ability to successfully complete the skills competency checklist within 90 days of hire
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Sound judgment
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and often stressful healthcare environment
  • Proficiency in learning and navigating multiple clinical software systems
  • Effective communication skills in English, including reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor Degree preferred
  • ACLS and PALS required within six (6) months of hire
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides comprehensive respiratory care to patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions across all age groups.
  • Performs diagnostic testing, administers and evaluates ordered therapies, and collaborates with physicians to develop and implement individualized plans of care.
  • Responds to emergent situations, including codes.
  • Educates patients and families.
  • Maintains respiratory equipment and supplies.
  • Ensures accurate documentation in the electronic medical record while adhering to evidence-based practices and regulatory standards.
