About The Position
Provides assessment, treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory disorders under licensed medical direction. This role administers therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care procedures, completes necessary documentation, and provides instruction to patients and healthcare team members as needed.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved respiratory therapy.
- Pennsylvania state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist or Temporary Practice Permit (TPP).
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) National Board of Respiratory Care required prior to the expiration of the Temporary Practice Permit (TPP).
- CPR – American Heart Association.
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
Nice To Haves
- Registered with the National Board of Respiratory Care RRT.
- Two years’ experience in pulmonary/respiratory medicine in a hospital setting.
Responsibilities
- Administers therapeutic respiratory care procedures according to hospital and department policies.
- Completes documentation that is required to measure, monitor, and ensure department effectiveness e.g., charting, billing, IPOC, patient/family education.
- Performs diagnostic respiratory procedures according to hospital and department policies.
- Provides instruction to patients and other members of the healthcare team as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
