About The Position

This is a full-time, benefited Respiratory Care Practitioner position at Mercy San Diego. The role works a varied 12-hour shift and totals 60 hours per two-week pay period. Intra-unit applicants must currently be Scripps employees in the RCP Department at Scripps Mercy to be considered. In collaboration with other caregivers, the Respiratory Therapist assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates respiratory care. The role performs technical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures related to respiratory care, along with other core responsibilities that support the flow of patient care. The therapist may provide additional patient care within the scope permitted by licensure, certification, or training; uses computer systems to perform position duties; adheres to hospital and departmental policies and procedures; and participates in quality control, preventive maintenance, and performance improvement activities.

Requirements

Current California RCP license.
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to speak, read, and follow instructions in English.
Technical competence in the department skills inventory.
Computer literacy.

Nice To Haves

One or more years of acute care experience.
Graduate of a one- or two-year AMA School of Respiratory Care.
