About The Position

The Department of Pediatric Pulmonary is looking to hire a Respiratory Therapist to perform Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT), Ventilator checks, and Exercise tolerance testing as well as providing general technical support in respiratory care including patient/caregiver education, Vest fittings and equipment support. Proficiency in performing and analyzing pulmonary function testing, oximetry, and capnography as needed. Demonstrates a working knowledge of homecare ventilators, CPAP, Bipap, suction equipment, and apnea monitors.

Requirements

• NYS license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of one year of respiratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provision of competent patient care based on established standards.
• Assume an expanded role which includes but is not limited to the preceptor role, participation on committees, and performing advanced respiratory care procedures.
• Perform Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT), Ventilator checks, and Exercise tolerance testing.
• Provide general technical support in respiratory care including patient/caregiver education, Vest fittings and equipment support.
