About The Position

Requirements

  • Graduate of a two-year AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy program
  • Current state license or certification as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the NBRC
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within facility-required timeframe
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within facility-required timeframe
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications, as required by facility policy

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an acute care or clinical setting
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and clinical assessment skills
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in high-acuity environments

Responsibilities

  • Performing respiratory therapy treatments including oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, chest physiotherapy, and suctioning
  • Managing and monitoring mechanical ventilators, including troubleshooting and adjusting settings as appropriate
  • Assisting with emergency interventions, code responses, and manual resuscitation
  • Obtaining and interpreting arterial blood gases and communicating results to the healthcare team
  • Conducting pulmonary function testing and 12-lead EKGs
  • Recognizing and reporting life-threatening arrhythmias and changes in patient condition
  • Maintaining respiratory therapy equipment and ensuring compliance with infection control standards
  • Accurately documenting patient care, interventions, and outcomes
  • Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient care
