About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide respiratory care to adult, pediatric, and, when appropriately trained, neonatal patients in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The Respiratory Therapist will provide assessment, treatment, monitoring, and management of patients with respiratory conditions. This position requires strong clinical judgment, the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, and the ability to respond to emergent respiratory situations. Candidates with at least 2 years of respiratory therapy experience are encouraged to apply. First-time travelers may be considered.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
  • Current Arizona RRT license required.
  • CRT-only candidates will not be considered.
  • Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience.
  • Ability to work with adult and pediatric populations.
  • NICU experience/training required for candidates providing neonatal respiratory care.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Strong assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently when assigned to a freestanding emergency department.

  • PALS
  • NRP required for therapists with NICU responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive respiratory care to adult and pediatric patients.
  • Provide neonatal respiratory care for therapists with appropriate NICU training.
  • Attend deliveries and C-sections when providing NICU coverage.
  • Perform approximately 35 respiratory treatments during a typical 12-hour shift.
  • Manage approximately 5–6 ventilated patients per day, depending on census and patient acuity.
  • Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and analysis.
  • Administer respiratory treatments and therapies according to patient needs and established protocols.
  • Assess patients and monitor respiratory status and response to treatment.
  • Manage and adjust ventilator settings as appropriate and within scope of practice.
  • Provide care for patients requiring mechanical ventilation and non-invasive ventilation.
  • Assist physicians and other clinical staff during intubation procedures.
  • Respond promptly to respiratory emergencies and changes in patient condition.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Collaborate with nurses, physicians, intensivists, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Follow established infection-control, safety, and patient-care standards.
  • Maintain respiratory equipment and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
  • Participate in patient education and provide appropriate instruction regarding respiratory therapies.
  • Demonstrate flexibility when assigned to different clinical areas based on operational needs.
