Respiratory Therapist / Nurse
About The Position
Optigen is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to serve the unique needs of the military and their families. The company is transforming the way PAP therapy is delivered in the home, servicing active duty, retired, and family members. The vision is to enable patients with sleep disordered breathing conditions to remain engaged in life. This position is responsible for setting up PAP equipment and providing patient education according to their needs, including teaching, advising, and cleaning to ensure appropriate functioning of equipment. This is a per diem, 1099 contracted position for individuals living in or near Jacksonville, FL, requiring occasional in-home visits.
Requirements
- Licensed Respiratory Therapist
- Exceptional human relations skills to interface with clients and customers
- Excellent verbal, communication, and people skills
- Commitment to provide exceptional service
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Familiarity with CPAP and BiLevel equipment and services provided in the home
- Familiarity with CPAP masks
- Minimum of two years’ experience in home CPAP / BiLevel setups
- Willingness to use personal vehicle for business with valid driver’s license and clean record
- Be available evenings and weekends to meet the needs of the patient
- Current State Respiratory Therapy License in good standing
- Have a working computer, printer, and scanner to obtain and print orders
Responsibilities
- Setting up PAP equipment
- Providing patient education according to the patient’s needs
- Teaching, advising, and cleaning to ensure appropriate functioning of equipment
- Assessing type and size of CPAP masks for clients
- Establishing relationships with clients and educating them on proper use and care of equipment
