About The Position

Lincare is seeking a Respiratory Therapist / Nurse to join its team. This employee sets up home medical equipment, including ventilators, monitors, CPAP/BiPAP units, and other related equipment, and educates and trains patients on proper equipment use. The position involves working with patients throughout an assigned territory and may require after-hours and weekend on-call work as needed. On-call frequency depends on center size and the number of employees available to share coverage.

Requirements

CRTs and RRTs are qualified in all states; subject to state law and regulation, RNs, LPNs, LVNs, paramedics, EMTs, and other clinicians may also qualify.
Maintain certification, registration, or licensure by the applicable state and/or national board governing clinical practice, or as otherwise permitted by law.
Have a reliable personal vehicle for visiting patients throughout the assigned territory.
Maintain a valid driver's license and auto insurance in the state of residence, in accordance with company policy.
In-depth knowledge of pulmonary function and pulmonary rehabilitation.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Computer literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and educate patients on home medical equipment, including CPAP/BiPAP machines, nebulizers, oxygen concentrators, and mechanical ventilators.
Inspect, test, and adjust home medical equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Review prescriptions and patient information to assess conditions and determine suitable treatment administration consistent with physician orders.
Maintain complete, organized patient records in compliance with accreditation standards.
Maintain current knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and relevant respiratory therapy concepts.
Work on-call after hours and weekends as needed; frequency depends on center size and the number of employees available to share coverage.
