About The Position

Provides physician-ordered respiratory therapy to patients. Performs a range of respiratory care services, including diagnostic testing, treadmill testing, complete pulmonary function tests, ABG machine maintenance, and hemodynamics. The role includes general floor therapies and procedures in specialty areas such as the ICU and PACU, and assessment and treatment of newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The therapist may also precept and train staff, students, and orientees and take an active leadership role in meeting departmental needs.

Requirements

• Complete a formal two-year respiratory education program meeting requirements for CRT certification or RRT registration.
• Understand general principles of asepsis and infection control practices, including isolation.
• Have knowledge of volume ventilators and understanding of patient hemodynamics.
• Have excellent customer service skills.
• Be able to take an active leadership role to meet departmental needs.

Nice To Haves

• Computer skills.
• Licensed Registered Respiratory Therapist in the State of Arizona and CPR certification.
• As required by the facility, obtain ACLS, PALS, and NRP within 12 months of employment.
• Acute care and ICU experience.

Responsibilities
