Respiratory Therapist RRT - Per Diem Level 1 - Shifts Vary
About The Position
Assists Physicians, as requested with Respiratory Therapy procedures. Provides respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians according hospital policy and procedures. Assesses patients to determine the most suitable method of administering treatment. Documents treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribes verbal or phone orders by physicians. Communicates to patient and family the treatment being performed in a clear manner. Monitors patient physiological response to therapy with special attention to the pediatric and neonatal patients. Provides patient and staff education.
Requirements
- Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program, as determined by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or proof of registry eligible status
- State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure within six months of employment
- Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) within 24 months of employment
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) within 24 months of employment
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) within 24 months of employment
- Must be able to work 48 hours every 6 weeks. 24 of those hours must be on the weekend.
