About The Position

Creekside Post Acute is seeking a Part Time Respiratory Therapist (RT) for either the NOC or DAY shift. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, responsible, reliable, and a team player. New graduates are welcome to apply. The role involves performing the duties of a Respiratory Care Practitioner, with a focus on long-term care. The RT will set up and operate various respiratory equipment for the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases and illnesses, as requested by a physician. This position requires maintaining a collaborative relationship with the unit's clinical manager, who serves as the team leader.

Requirements

  • RCP (Respiratory Care Practitioner)
  • RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Ability to perform duties under the supervision of a Pulmonologist and RT Director.
  • Ability to provide maintenance of artificial airways.
  • Ability to assess and wean mechanical ventilated patients.
  • Ability to administer oxygen therapy.
  • Ability to administer aerosol treatments.
  • Ability to administer DPI treatments.
  • Ability to perform Tracheostomy tube changes.
  • Ability to perform Pulse oximetry.
  • Ability to perform CPT.
  • Ability to assist and resolve an acute respiratory illness.
  • Ability to provide patient and family education/training.
  • Ability to perform Cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Demonstrates ability to relate appropriately and work effectively with others.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments without sacrificing the quality of the end product.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks of a Respiratory Care Practitioner with emphasis on long term care.
  • Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment for diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease and/or illness upon physician request.
  • Maintain a collaborative working relationship with the unit's clinical manager.
  • Provide maintenance of artificial airways.
  • Assess and wean mechanical ventilated patients.
  • Administer oxygen therapy.
  • Administer aerosol treatments.
  • Administer DPI treatments.
  • Perform Tracheostomy tube changes.
