About The Position
This position represents patient care directed toward pediatric critical care areas; step down areas, and general care areas. The role involves performing and recommending procedures in all areas of bronchial hygiene, oxygen therapy, respiratory diagnostic procedures, and all levels of mechanical ventilation. The position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly.
Requirements
- HS/GED Required
- Must be licensed by the ASBRT
- Must be registered by the NBRC or credentialed as a Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist (NPS) by the NBRC
- Clinical experience obtained while attending Respiratory program
- Ability to function in critical settings including initiation, and support of, mechanical ventilation
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly
Nice To Haves
- Certification of PALS and NRP are preferred for all applicants and are mandatory within one year
- Certification of BLS is preferred for hire processes and required within the orientation period, not to exceed 90 days of hire or transfer
- Certification of ACLS is preferred
- Additional experience relating to intubation and pediatric transport competencies are preferred upon hire
