About The Position

Texas Health Kaufman is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join their Respiratory Care Department on a PRN basis. This role involves providing high-quality patient care, working with a dynamic team, and utilizing new ventilators. The hospital has served its communities for over 40 years and is a Joint Commission-certified facility recognized by the ANCC as a Pathway to Excellence hospital.

Requirements

Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Care Program is required
RCP - Respiratory Care Practitioner Upon Hire is required
RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist Upon Hire is required
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly is required
Good verbal communications, good interpersonal skills, computer experience

Nice To Haves

1 Year Med/Surg or critical care experience preferred
3 years of RRT Experience is strongly preferred
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days is required
NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days is required

Responsibilities

Obtains/verifies physician order for therapy and validate for appropriateness.
Demonstrates competence in the performance of age-appropriate patient assessment and individualizes care based on age specific needs.
Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.
Performs treatment procedures that are within the scope of the professional license.
Administers medication in a safe/correct manner, adhering to medication administration guidelines.
Reports unsafe conditions and equipment in proper/timely manner.
Responds to emergency situations.
