Respiratory Therapist (PRN) - Pediatrics - $56.50/hr - Portland, OR
About The Position
VitalHire is hiring a per diem/PRN Respiratory Therapist to provide pediatric respiratory care at a pediatric specialty care hospital and ambulatory surgery center in Portland, Oregon. PRN clinicians select available shifts through an app, with instant confirmation and the ability to choose shifts as far into the future as openings are available. The role involves providing respiratory care to pediatric patients under physician orders from admission through discharge. Shifts include days from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM and nights from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM PT. Orientation is during the day from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM PT. Shift durations are 6 or 12 hours. The listed hourly rate is $56.50.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience within the last 5 years, including at least 1 year of pediatric experience.
- Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy.
- Active Oregon Respiratory Therapist license.
- Active BLS and PALS certifications.
- Negative TB test within the last 12 months.
- Hepatitis B series or titer.
- MMR series or titer.
- Tdap vaccine within the last 10 years or titer.
- Varicella series or titer.
Nice To Haves
- NBRC credential (RRT preferred).
Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care to pediatric patients under physician orders, from admission through discharge.
- Set up, monitor, and troubleshoot ventilators, oxygen delivery, and airway clearance equipment.
- Perform patient assessments before and after therapy and respond to rapid responses and codes.
- Accurately document treatments and communicate clinical updates to the care team.
