Respiratory Therapist (RT)
About The Position
Trios Health, part of Lifepoint Health, is hiring a Respiratory Therapist for a night-shift union position. The role contributes to the organization’s mission of providing exceptional care and helping make communities healthier. The therapist delivers routine respiratory therapy as delegated, responds to emergencies, assesses patients and provides appropriate treatment, and monitors and communicates patient conditions. The position also includes educating patients and families, managing respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders, maintaining equipment and storage areas, and cleaning, sterilizing, calibrating, and performing preventive maintenance on machines.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required within one month of hire or transfer.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within six months of hire or transfer.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within six months of hire or transfer.
- NRP is listed; no deadline or other qualification details are provided.
Responsibilities
- Deliver routine therapy as delegated by a therapist.
- Respond to codes and calls for emergent assistance.
- Assess patient condition and deliver appropriate treatment.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition.
- Educate patients and families about the patient's illness and provide information about community support groups and other resources.
- Monitor, receive, stock, and distribute respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders.
- Maintain storage areas with required supply levels and equipment.
- Disassemble, clean, and sterilize equipment; perform preventive maintenance and calibration of machines.
