About The Position

The Respiratory Therapist shall be responsible for the administration of respiratory care offered by the Respiratory Care Department. They will function clinically with a considerable amount of independent judgment regarding the delivery of quality patient care. The role also involves serving as a technical resource person to physicians and other healthcare workers regarding current practices in respiratory care. Responsibilities include setting up, operating, and managing patient care on respiratory-related equipment such as mechanical ventilators, NIPPV/CPAP, or High Flow Oxygen devices, and managing patients on invasive mechanical ventilation modes (AC, PSV, PC, APRV, Bi-level).

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Care, minimum of a two-year Associate's Degree
  • Current State of CT Respiratory Care Practitioner License
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified (CRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Thorough knowledge of the procedures and patient care techniques involved in the delivery of respiratory care
