The Respiratory Therapist (RRT) supports the assessment, care, and management of patients across the lifespan who require respiratory support, including invasive and non-invasive ventilation and high-flow oxygen therapy. Responsibilities include advanced neonatal resuscitation and newborn airway management, oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and ABGs. The RRT will assist patients with pre/post tracheotomy care and needs, and liaise with medical specialists. The role involves providing respiratory therapy assessments, and developing therapy discharge and care plans. The RRT will attend patient and program meetings and communicate with home care vendors/clients. This position requires autonomous work, decision-making, and judgment. The RRT acts as a resource to the cardio-respiratory department and, as the only Respiratory Therapist on site, is responsible for supporting all areas. The successful applicant must be highly motivated with excellent clinical decision-making, communication, and time management skills.
