About The Position

Southern New Hampshire Health is hiring a full-time Respiratory Therapist for its Respiratory Care department. The role performs respiratory care throughout the hospital within practice guidelines and approved hospital policies and procedures. The department emphasizes personalized, patient-centered care and uses state-of-the-art technology and resources. The position is 36 hours per week, working three 12-hour day shifts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Responsibilities include carrying out respiratory therapy orders, collecting and analyzing arterial blood gases and cord, venous, and capillary samples, managing life-support ventilators and BiPAP/CPAP, and responding to codes and emergencies for airway management.

Requirements

Satisfactory completion of an approved AMA Respiratory Practitioner program.
Certified Respiratory Therapist credential.
Current New Hampshire State RCP license, maintained throughout employment.
Current CPR certification, maintained throughout employment.
Complete all major competency verifications on a yearly basis.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience in an acute care setting.
ACLS certification.
NRP certification.
PALS certification.

Responsibilities

Perform respiratory therapy orders throughout the hospital.
Draw arterial blood gases and analyze ABGs and cord, venous, and capillary samples.
Manage life-support ventilators and BiPAP/CPAP.
Respond to codes and emergencies for airway management.
Perform respiratory care within practice guidelines and approved hospital policies and procedures.
Complete major competency verifications annually.
