Respiratory Therapist (Rt) Full Time Days
About The Position
AMG Specialty Hospital - North Mississippi is seeking a Full Time Respiratory Therapist (RT) for Day Shifts. This role involves performing technical work related to administering therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care and life support to patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities. Responsibilities include operating and monitoring respiratory equipment, administering medical gases and medications, maintaining airway clearance, providing assistance in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and potentially obtaining and analyzing blood samples for arterial blood gases.
Requirements
- Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner in state of employment (RT, RRT, CRT).
- Current ACLS certification.
- Current BLS certification.
- Minimum of one to three years of related work experience.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
Responsibilities
- Performance of technical work concerned with administering therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care and life support to patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities.
- Operating and monitoring respiratory equipment, such as, continuous and intermittent ventilators, medical gas delivery apparatus, incentive breathing/hyperinflation devices, environmental control systems, and aerosol devices.
- Administering medical gases, humidification, aerosols, and respiratory medications.
- Maintaining clearance of patients natural and artificial airways.
- Providing primary assistance in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
- If applicable, obtaining blood samples, running blood samples, maintaining the Arterial blood gas laboratory, reporting analyte results and interpreting blood gas data.
