About The Position

This is a part-time position for a Respiratory Therapist responsible for providing delivery, setup, instruction, and follow-up for patients using various respiratory equipment. The role involves consulting with medical personnel, developing service plans for rental equipment, performing diagnostic studies, maintaining patient records, and assisting with inventory control. The position requires adherence to infection control, safety, and confidentiality policies, as well as compliance with legal and certification requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide delivery, setup, instruction, and follow up to patients for products including Ventilators, Nebulizers and respiratory medications, Percussion Vests, Suction Equipment, Cough Assist Machine, Aerosol air compressors, Oxygen delivery systems, and CPAP/BIPAP.
  • Provide information and consultation to medical personnel regarding home ventilators, respiratory equipment, or supplies.
  • Develop and maintain a plan of service for patients who rent equipment.
  • Perform diagnostic or therapeutic studies ordered by physicians, reporting results to the ordering physician.
  • Maintain home care records on all respiratory patients.
  • Ensure new patients are processed in a timely and effective manner, including obtaining necessary documentation.
  • Communicate with physicians and other referral sources for compliance, problem-solving, and patient question resolution.
  • Assist with inventory control of respiratory products through cycle counts and monitoring rental equipment levels.
  • Maintain patient confidence by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal and certification requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
