About The Position

The Respiratory Therapist (NonReg) performs therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care services to improve or maintain adequate oxygenation and acid-base balance. The therapist develops and collaborates on patient care with healthcare staff and physicians while following standard policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner license or temporary permit issued by the Mississippi State Board of Health.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in all phases of respiratory care.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care to patients for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
• Develop, implement, and/or adjust orders based on patient assessment and response to therapy.
• Provide scheduled and emergency therapy and/or diagnostic tests according to policy and standard procedures.
• Maintain accountability for patient care delegated or scheduled to others.
• Communicate patient and family healthcare needs to the appropriate healthcare provider.
• Provide accurate and timely documentation in patient care records according to policy and standard procedures.
• Communicate directly with the appropriate healthcare team as needed.
• Participate in team conferences and/or care coordination activities as needed.
