The Respiratory Therapist will maintain knowledge of various oxygen delivery methods and equipment, remaining alert to potential side effects. They will be competent in assessing, treating, and caring for patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders, administering respiratory therapy treatments with an understanding of their purpose and risks. The role also involves performing Pulmonary Function testing, EKGs, and managing, operating, and cleaning equipment safely and correctly. The therapist will inspect and test equipment to ensure safe and efficient functioning and demonstrate knowledge of age-specific techniques and treatment modalities for neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, geriatrics, and the general population. Additionally, they will maintain knowledge of department forms, flow charts, and logs, and perform other duties as assigned by the department director.
