About The Position

Indiana University Health and Riley Children's Health is looking for passionate, recent and upcoming RT graduates to join our team and collaborate with top medical professionals. Our Respiratory Therapists (RT) work closely with our patients to evaluate and treat patients with cardiopulmonary disorders ranging in modalities and demographics. We are also responsible for collaborating with various different entities in the hospital setting including nurses, Advanced Respiratory Therapists, and Clinical Specialists to ensure total customer happiness and support. Outside of working with groundbreaking technologies and therapies, our RTs get the opportunity to grow their medical knowledge and skills. They do this by working closely with patients and team members to build personalized therapies. This position exists to be responsible and accountable for the administration of comprehensive respiratory care services and for appropriate documentation in the medical record of the therapy provided. The incumbent advises medical staff on appropriate types of therapeutic modalities.

Requirements

  • Current license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner from the state of Indiana.
  • Graduation from a CoARC and regionally accredited respiratory care program.
  • Pass the N.B.R.C. registry exam within 6 months of hire date (void if hire date is one year past graduation date).
  • Healthcare Provider Certification.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to deal with confidential patient information.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to work with EMR.

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS certification.
  • PALS certification.
  • NRP certification.

Responsibilities
