About The Position

This position represents patient care directed toward Step Down areas and general care areas and will work under direct supervision of a licensed respiratory therapist.

Requirements

• HS/GED required.
• Applicants must be enrolled in a CoARC or CAAHEP accredited respiratory therapy program, and must obtain a student license issued by the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy within 30 days of employment.
• Certification of BLS is preferred for hiral processes and mandatory upon completion of orientation period.
• Clinical experience obtained while attending Respiratory program is preferred.
• Applicants will be able to function in general care areas NOT including critical care areas and/or ventilator management.
• Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly.
• Must have the ability to perform and recommend procedures in all areas of bronchial hygiene, oxygen therapy, and basic respiratory diagnostic procedures.
