About The Position

This role is for a licensed Respiratory Therapist seeking an opportunity in a complex and evolving work environment, offering a change from the hospital setting with a weekday schedule and biweekly bonus opportunities. The position involves assessing patient needs for equipment, selecting, instructing, and troubleshooting appropriate equipment and services. Employees will provide in-home patient care as needed and support a variety of Ohio locations, requiring travel within the assigned territory and coverage for area branches. Requirements

  • High degree of integrity.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
  • Respiratory care experience and/or home care experience in the field of respiratory care.
  • Thorough knowledge and skills related to Home Medical Equipment field.
  • Ability to effectively manage all respiratory products provided by the company.
  • Ability to recognize the needs and concerns of people resulting in constructive working relationships.

  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and document orders for equipment and/or services from referral sources, physicians, patients/clients, family members, or caregivers.
  • Maintain compliance tasks daily, including patient utilization, improvement, check-ins/follow-ups, documentation, resolution, and task lists.
  • Provide administrative support, including handling paperwork, filing, managing correspondence, and addressing client complaints.
  • Train and assist with overall daily operations of Respiratory Therapy, including vents, intake, coverage, and quality assurance at existing and new locations.
  • Travel within the assigned territory and provide coverage for area branches as operational needs dictate.
  • Assist with staffing coverage at various locations when peers are unavailable.
  • Collect additional information and/or authorization as needed.
  • Assess patient/client needs and determine the best equipment/services to meet those needs, involving the patient/client and/or family/caregiver in the selection process.
  • Instruct patients/clients in the proper use and care of equipment.
  • Communicate with the patient's/client's physician regarding changes in condition/needs and adjust the Plan of Care/Treatment.
  • Rotate to various branches to support the business and patients.
  • Track and maintain follow-up on preventative maintenance and schedule visits for respiratory therapy equipment assigned to clients.
  • Assist with scheduled visits of clients receiving oxygen therapy as needed.
  • Complete patient/client accounts paperwork, including Plan of Care/Home assessments.
  • Act as a liaison between the company and patients/clients, families, caregivers, physicians, and other healthcare agencies.
  • Conduct, participate, and attend educational meetings and seminars for healthcare workers, patients/clients, families, caregivers, physicians, and community members.
  • Assist with arranging necessary referrals to community agencies or for traveling patients to ensure continuity of care.
  • Develop and implement discharge plans for agency patients/clients.
  • Assume full responsibility for actions, professional skills, and attitudes.
  • Support the organization by being loyal and informing the branch manager of areas of concern and problems.
  • Keep cognizant of third-party reimbursement, criteria services, billing, patient/client paperwork, and equipment offered.
  • Work after normal business hours and on weekends.
  • Oversee all clinical functions performed by the company.

  • Maintain a flexible attitude and willingness to take on extra tasks as necessary.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
