Respiratory Therapist / RRT
About The Position
Emory Healthcare (EHC) is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join their Respiratory Care team at Emory University Hospital Midtown. This role involves providing respiratory care to patients in acute, chronic, and emergency situations, including performing routine ventilator and artificial airway treatments in critical and general care areas. The therapist will also assist physicians and perform other necessary respiratory care activities. Additionally, responsibilities include accurate documentation of patient care, selecting, assembling, and checking respiratory care equipment, and working with management on professional development plans.
Requirements
- Graduate of a CoARC (Commission on Accreditation of Respiratory Care) accredited approved school required.
- Registered as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
- Licensed as a Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) by the state of Georgia.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.
Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care to patients in acute, chronic, and emergency situations.
- Perform routine ventilator and artificial airway treatments in critical and general care areas.
- Assist physicians and perform routine and respiratory care activities as necessary.
- Accurately and completely document respiratory care by following the established charting procedure.
- Select, assemble, and check respiratory care equipment for proper operation and cleanliness.
- Work with management to formulate plans for professional development.
